The Scarlet Cord

Acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas.
This painting is based on the story of Rahab and the Spies recorded in Joshua 2:1-21,6:22-25. Rahab risked her life to hide the Israelite spies who had come to destroy the city of Jericho. She did this because "Your God is God in heaven above and on the earth below." The scarlet cord was the sign that these lives were to be saved. The Scarlet Cord becomes a powerful visual for us. When we acknowledge the blood of Jesus Christ shed for us, our lives, also, are marked by a sign to be saved!
